I have a lot of experience in wine. Actually I'm quite sure I still have spitted out more than I have swallowed, tasting wines as a professional wine writer. For many years I use to write articles about food and wine for Swedish magazines and news papers. I was an active members of the Swedish wine writers association and have tried close to 50K wines. All the famous wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Napa and so on. I have a great appreciation for wine, and love to combine them with different dishes.
White wines are amazing. My favorite grape is Chardonnay. to be more specific. Chardonnay's from Burgundy in France. The rest of the world still has a hard time growing that great elsewhere. My favorite chardonnays, nort from France are from South Africa and the west side of Australia, Margaret River. Here you will find a lot of different wines but most of them will be chardonnay focused.
2013 Dorrance, Chardonnay $20+
Nice very elegant Chardonnay from South Africa. Some of my favorite vhite's are fro m here. If you buy them, you will get more flavor per $ than you will get buying U.S Chardonnays. This one is oaky but still high in acidity. Think, matured lemons with a hint of oak. Perfect for rich flavorfull fish dishes and chicken.
Bourgogne Les Setilles, $25+
Super crispy and nice base Burgundy with a hint of oak. think matured limes with a scent of limestone. Perfect for lighter fish dishes.
2016 Casa Madero Gran Reserva Mexico $?
Super heavy and rich Chardonnay from Mexico. Had it at a restaurant in mexico,so I don't know the retail price, but it was amazing. Very fresh, dry, crispy fruit of un matured dusty lemmons, with a quite charming overload of oak that took me back to Spanish Rioja's. Buy one if you can find it! HEAVY STUFF!
2017 Miles from Nowhere (Chardonnay) $20+
Very untypical Chardonnay from the amazing Margaret River, west side Australia. My white thought first it was a Sauvignon blanch. Taste really fresh with a fruit that reminds me of wild strawberries and goose berries. Not a single tone of oak in my mouth. Very well worth the $. Works with most of things you can eat from the water.
2015 Snake+Herring Tough Love Chardonnay. $20+
Very crispy and nice chardonnay from the west coast of Australia. Very Burgundy-ish. A hint of oak with fruit of lemons. Really good wine for close to $20, taste more like $30+
2013 Chateau de Rully, Chardonnay, $30+
This white has everything you ask for. From the original growth place for Chardonnay. Super refreshing with limestone, matured lemons and a perfect scoop of oak. Well worth the $. Fits like a hand in a glove with most types of fish.
2015 Snake+Herring, Chardonnay, $30+
From the amazing place Margaret River, West coast Australia. My favorite white wines are made from Chardonnay and most of the he time from Burgundy in France. Margaret River area never disappoints me though. This wine is very elegant with roasted notes of wood in combination with fresh fruit notes. Almost like biting a nice juicy Lemmon. Worlds very well with most fish and shellfish.
2016 Vasse Felix, Chardonnay $+25
Just an amazing full bodied Chardonnay from the West coast in Australia. Taste like matured sunny lemons with a nice, sophisticated kick of oak without being up your face. works well with all types of fish you'll put on the grill this summer
2016 Tur o Nia, Albarino, $ -20
Great Spanish refreshing white with a flavor of un matured straw berries and goos berries. Work very well with lighter fish an d shell fish dishes or just as a refreshing afternoon drink summer time.
2016 Swan Bay Chardonnay, $20+
Great Aussie Chardonnay with a heavy body of matured lemons and a nice hint of oak. Works well with grilled fish and chicken
2016 Hartenberg Chardonnay, South Africa, $20+
Refreshing summer wine just to sip or serve with flavorful fish or chicken. Lemon and lime with a hint of wood and long crispy aftertaste
2014 Beaune from Latour, $25+
Classy Chardonnay just south of Beaune in Burgundy. This is just how they are suppose to taste,]. Lime stone, crispy Lemmon fruit and a hint of oak. Works well with chicken, shellfish and fish.
